Mimosa pudica Linn. is widely used in traditional medicine and is known for its touch-induced thigmotactic movements. It contains diverse phytochemicals linked with numerous pharmacological effects.

To present a comprehensive review of the phytochemistry, pharmacological activities, mechanisms of action, and traditional uses of Mimosa pudica based on scientific literature.

Data were compiled from peer-reviewed journals, pharmacopoeias, and published scientific reports. Studies evaluated include in vivo, in vitro, and ethnomedicinal findings.

The plant exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antidepressant, antivenom, hepatoprotective, diuretic, contraceptive, wound healing, and anticonvulsant properties, attributed to its rich chemical composition including alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phenols, terpenoids, and glycosides.

Mimosa pudica holds significant therapeutic promise and traditional relevance. Its pharmacological benefits warrant clinical studies, extract standardization, and advanced formulation development.
